The simple definition of the termination of pregnancy has such an up roar and a voice of opinions in society. When many hear the word abortion, they think of a woman getting rid of her baby because she was not being safe with her partner and that she is making a selfish decision. An abortion can also occur spontaneously where it is then referred to as a miscarriage. It is important to understand reasoning behind why each abortion was chosen before judging the parents of the baby or the doctor involved. Many say that abortions are unethical as they are speaking in the baby’s voice, but some voices find the side where there are circumstances that make an abortion ethical and necessary which defines pro-choice and pro-life. Such strong opinions and wants have turned the fight of whether abortion should be legal or illegal have turned to violent strategies. We are fighting fire with fire in any case like that. There are two sides in the debate of keeping abortion legal or making it illegal. There are pro-choice people, who feel as though every female should have a choice in whether they want to carry their child or not. On the other hand there are pro-life people who feel as though just because the public cannot see the baby, the baby is still there no matter who wants to ignore them. Simply put, pro-life people do not agree in killing the baby and pro-choice people do agree in killing the baby. There are bumps in the road as you travel down your decision of becoming pro-life or choice. Pregnancy resulting from rape is very rare. â€Å"†¦we must approach the victim of rape or incest with great compassion† (Monohan). Cultural, legal and religious status of abortion vary globally.
