Evaluation Plan Evaluation Methodology & Instrumentation

Question: Discuss about the Evaluation Plan for Evaluation Methodology Instrumentation. Answer: Evaluation Plan This research study looks towards the development of a training manual that is helpful in enhancing the communication skills for the students. The training manual that is under development presents the students to increase their efficiency in terms of the use of the various communication techniques and the methods. This is required in order to make their communication skills better in order to communicate with the external environment that presented before them such as interviews related to the jobs, the speaking and communication power with other people in their career etc. This manual will present them with immense opportunities to better the modes of communication and present themselves in their future with better confidence. Audience Description This study regarding the development of the training manual targets the audiences like the students who needs to develop their skill relating to proper communication needs. These primarily targeted towards students those have passed out from high schools and above within the age group between 15 years and 20 years for helping them to communicate better with external world and make their future better. This manual designed keeping in mind both the gender male and female irrespective of any background or education, the culture with respect to develop their communication skills(Durland and Fredericks, 2006). Further, this manual targets the group of students needing the requirement for developing the communication skill. The manual helps them though learning with both the online and offline methods. Evaluation Type and Purpose This formative evaluation tries to ensure that this training manual or the program activity is appropriate, feasible and acceptable prior to its implementation. This training manual with the help of the trainers tries to address these issues regarding the requirement of developing the training manual for the students to enhance the communication skills using the qualitative methods with understanding from the trainers the feasibility of the program. This is required so that the program is developed regarding enhancing the communication skills of the students that will help them in their personal and professional life in the future (Rutman, 2010). Evaluation Questions This study with relation to the formative evaluation tries to understand the following question below from the trainers and students during the process like Did the trainers have confusion with the training manual or the program? Do they feel whether each aspect related to the experiences have been included or there are changes that needed to be included in necessary areas? How prepared the trainers are in understanding the training manual requirements that help to develop the student communication skills? To understand whether on right track questions such as any specific areas that helps towards taking the final decision in this aspect can be explored. B. Potential Interview The study been done towards evaluating the effectiveness of teaching manual to develop communication skill with context to students and trainers. This requires response collection from both these populations like the trainers and the students. Interview purpose in understanding the training manual effectiveness towards developing the communication skills requires responses from the trainers that need to be collected in qualitative manner and students through qualitative methods (Gillham, 2008). This requires the academic institution to conduct the interview through their trainers and the students. C. Interview Questions These interview questions to the trainers and students are Is the training manual effective regarding developing communication skills? Whether it related to the areas related to development of communication techniques? Does the manual help address the need of students? Is this manual in tune with present requirements related to communication? Does students benefit from it? Does this manual require refinement? Will it really improve the skills? Will the students really benefit? D. Interview Type To conduct the study efficiently requires both primary and secondary data. This study however being instructional product primary data is used with the semi structured interviews that helps to understand broadly the factors that will help the needs of such training manual than the structured interview as students does not have the knowledge fully to determine the effectiveness of the manual. This primary data being first hand data is for specific purpose collected and this study requires evaluating the effectiveness and quality of training manual, which forms basis of judgment for instructional products (Saunders et al., 2009). E. Potential Questionnaire This questionnaire conducted through the collection of the primary data with the survey conducted takes both the qualitative data and the quantitative data for the use, Here this study primarily considers the qualitative data with question short like does this manual help for developing communication that can be answered with either YES or NO. This helps the purpose to develop the manual that affects the communication skills of the students. The main objective of this questionnaire is really to through the survey with the collection of the interviews that primarily involves the students and the trainers. It is important to understand that without the active participation of these groups the entire exercise will not be fruitful in realizing the actual goals and objectives of the program related to the development of the manual that enhances the communication skills of the students (Hair et al., 2000). Therefore, the institution requires the participation of these groups for the completion of the program related to this manual development. F. Questionnaire or Survey Questionnaire for Survey Is the training manual effective in developing communication skills? Yes No Is the training manual related to the development of communication techniques? Yes No Does the training manual address your specific needs? Yes No Is the training manual in perfect alignment with the present requirements related to communication skills? Yes No Do you think there exist a scope for improvement? Yes No If Yes, What are the areas that requirement improvements? The training should also be made available online The training should be more interactive The training period should be extended This questionnaire or the survey with the purpose to understand the effectiveness of the training manual in providing and enhancing the communication skills suggested that this manual requires improvements where 30% focusing on the areas related to online methods with better interactive techniques be included. 20% focused on the subjects and the attractiveness of the learning styles that are required towards further development of the program related to the manual (Gillham, 2008). This analysis based on the questionnaire developed for the respondents to respond relating to the development of the training manual gave fair understanding of the developments required. The study revealed the fact that through the analysis with 90% students either agree strongly or agree that this training manual related to enhancing the communication skills is effective than other manuals or practices and hence this is related directly to instructional product quality and effectiveness to students.
