Middle Class Delinquency to Gangs Research Paper

White collar Class Delinquency to Gangs - Research Paper Example As Lowney (2009: 527-38) watched, in a pack, an adolescent will discover cash, fellowship or more all to get what they need. The paper will talk about the working class wrongdoing relationship to the groups. So as to comprehend the connection between the white collar class misconducts to posse, it is vital for five issues to be tended to. To start, posse must be separated from different types of companion gatherings. Gao (2002: 8-26) saw that a few young people are composed into gatherings yet are not packs. Besides, consideration must be paid to the relationship quality between being in a group and the misconduct of the individuals. Thirdly, the attention ought to be on the significance of gaining from the companions in spite of being summed up into posses. The fourth issue includes the companion bunch solidarity impact in causing misconduct. On account of the significance of offering thought to the comparability of the companions to a group, engaging in wrongdoing and different exe rcises, and the friends solidarity ought to be treated as factors. Friend bunches that look like a posse among the white collar class animate wrongdoing when the individuals feel the solid solidarity sense in their gathering. Besides, it might be that the resemblance of the group is identified with the wrongdoing of the people when joined with the misconduct of different individuals. ... As per Myerhoff et al (2001: 328-335), the promoted posse thoughts are utilized by a wide range of adolescents in various sorts of networks. In addition, the complicated networks go about as the misconduct areas, dominatingly the male posses. Greeley et al (2005: 33-41) recommended the strain hypothesis that was presented by speculations, for example, Albert Cohen as the model that can clarify how factors in the working class, for example, vagrancy, destitution, absence of chance and absence of child rearing are the significant givers of wrongdoing and development of reprobate sub societies like the packs. As indicated by Greeley et al (2005: 33-41), the strain hypothesis shapes some portion of the objectivists point of view that accepts that conduct is socially made, expect accord of significant worth and is recognizable. Besides, the hypothesis contains the two other separate speculations, that is, Anomie and Social Disorganization Theories. As indicated by Lowney (2009: 527-38), t he two hypotheses proposes that the less nearness of combination, attachment and solidarity inside a network, gathering or society, the higher the pace of wrongdoing and abnormality. Gao (2002: 8-26) demonstrated that the term Anomie alludes to state of absence of standards, that advances by and large higher self destruction rates. Utilizing the idea of anomie, The Theory of Anomie and Social Structure was drawn. The Theory of Anomie and Social Structure gives a coherent clarification of the reasons why most wrongdoing exercises are found in working class and the lower class urban regions. As indicated by Salzinger et al (2006), social structure parity and culture are the important segments that structure a coordinated society. In this way, anomie is the heading that deterioration of the general public takes when there is separation between real cultural methods and esteemed social finishes

Other potential causes of brain shrinkage include injury, certain diseases and disorders, infections, and alcohol use. Just as the body ages, so does the brain. But not all brains age the same. Some of the changes that take place in the brain include decreases in brain mass, shrinkage of white matter, declines in synaptic connections, and changes in neurotransmitter systems. All of these factors may play a role in some of the age-related declines in cognitive abilities that are part of the normal aging process. Exercise May Protect the Brain From Age-Based Declines While many of the causes behind brain decline may not be avoidable, there is some evidence that certain lifestyle changes may help protect the brain from age-based declines. Regular exercise is one factor that may help protect the brain from shrinkage as people grow older. Past research has shown plenty of great reasons to stay physically fit. Aside from being good for your physical health, regular exercise has been shown to be good for your brain. Some research shows that it might even make you smarter. And, as if you needed one more reason to hit the gym, one study has shown that being fit can help minimize the inevitable brain shrinkage that stems from the aging process. Poor Fitness Is Linked to Increased Brain Shrinkage Researchers from the Boston University School of Medicine found that people who were in poor physical fitness during their 40s had significantly lower brain volumes by the time they reach age 60. Experts consider this decrease in brain volume a sign of accelerated aging of the brain. The researchers explain that while people often dont start to worry about the aging process until they get much older, the results of their study indicate that younger people should consider their brain health early on. While people often dont start worrying about brain health until they are much older, these studies demonstrate that maintaining your brains well-being really starts when you are much younger. If you want to have a healthier brain later, you need to start making good choices now. Researchers discovered these changes in brain volume in a study that involved reviewing exercise data from more than 1,200 adults who were around the age of 40, all of whom were also part of the larger Framingham Heart Study. When these participants were given MRI scans 20 years later, those who were less fit in midlife had much lower levels of brain tissue later in life. More specifically, they found that people with low fitness levels had a much higher rise in diastolic blood pressure after just a few minutes on a treadmill moving at a slow pace. It was these people who were more likely to have reduced brain volume at age 60. The researchers found that people who are not fit experience more spikes in blood pressure and heart rate in response to even low levels of activity compared to people who are physically fit. Blood Pressure Fluctuations May Damage the Brain Fluctuations in blood pressure can damage small vessels in the brain that are vulnerable to such changes. Such vascular damage in the brain can then contribute to structural changes and cognitive losses. The researchers were interested in looking at how these dramatic blood pressure changes could contribute to later structural changes in the brain. The researchers also conducted cognitive tests with participants starting at age 60. They found that those who had lower fitness levels in midlife also did worse on these cognitive tests than did those who had been fit during their 40s. Why Getting Fit Today Can Protect Your Brain While the reality is that some brain shrinkage as you age is simply inevitable, the results of this study from Boston University researchers suggests that there are steps you can take to minimize this shrinkage and protect your brain from some of the damaging effects of aging. The results echo previous findings that being physically fit early in life (around age 25) leads to better cognitive performance in middle age.?? The researchers also suggest that seeing how these participants fare in the future might also provide important information about the importance of exercise and brain health. Additional follow-ups over the next decade will look at how many of those in the study end up developing dementia as they grow older. A Word From Verywell Not all brain shrinkage is preventable, but such research suggests that finding ways to control your blood pressure may help. Regular exercise and eating a balanced diet are two things that may help you control your blood pressure. Research suggests that in addition to exercise, other protective factors such as a healthy diet, challenging leisure activities, socializing with others, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake can also reduce age-related brain declines.?? Disturbing Behavior Paper Free Essays

Behavior Paper is on the issue of, â€Å"Teens and Bestiality. † According to The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, â€Å"bestiality† is defined as, â€Å"The sexual molestation of an animal by a human. This can include a variety of behaviors, including vaginal, anal, or oral penetration; fondling; oral-genital contact; penetration using an object; and killing or injuring an animal for sexual gratification. We will write a custom essay sample on Disturbing Behavior Paper or any similar topic only for you Order Now Animal sexual abuse, like rape, is the eroticization of violence, control and exploitation. [1] There are a few articles that I will use to assist my paper. The first article is from the Miami New Times. According to the news article, during his sophomore year, Cody Beck, now 18years of age admitted to his classmates that he is, â€Å"sexually attractive to dogs and horses. † Beck who is openly bisexual, said he told his classmates his secret just for the hell of it. [2] According to Beck, being a â€Å"zoophile† in modern American society, Beck says, is â€Å"like being gay in the 1950s. You feel like you have to hide, that if you say it out loud, people will look at you like a freak. Beck believes that he and the small sexual orientation; that by the way refer to themselves as â€Å"zoos,† can follow the same route as the Gay Rights Movement. Another article in regards to the disturbing behavior of bestiality is from the Metro West Daily News. It is the case of an 18 year old Sherborn teen that was caught on camera having sex with a sheep. According to police, Roger Henderson II, 18, was arraigned yesterday in Natick District Court on charges of bestiality, cruelty to animals and breaking and entering in connection with an incident police say took place at Boggastow Farm on June 27, 2009.In regards to another article, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a teen is accused of raping a neighbor’s dog and another neighbor’s two little girls. Now the dog has died due to the rape and charges against the teen have been upgraded. According to the Solicitor’s Office, the charges were upgraded to the â€Å"most serious animal cruelty charges they have on the books. â€Å"[3] According to The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, â€Å"Hard statistics on zoophilia are difficult to obtain, but estimates have placed the percentage of males who sexually abuse animals as high as 65%. Also, attempts by law enforcements and psychiatrists to retrieve information about sexual assault on animals from professional crimin als have been mostly unsuccessful. Most criminals will hide or deny any such contact, similar to their reactions when asked about child molestation. There are consequences to this type of sex crime. The perpetrators usually get sentenced to jail; but according to World Net Daily, four State Legislators in Massachusetts have introduced Senate bill 938. 4] According to the local newspaper, Boston’s Weekly Dig, â€Å"The bill would strike down several sections of the current penal code criminalizing adultery, fornication and the advertisement of abortion,† the reported stated. â€Å"It also repeals what appears to be a sodomy statute forbidding ‘abominable and detestable crime against nature, either with mankind or with a beast. ‘ While the bill would keep bestiality technically illegal, it gives the option of less severe penalties. Previously, those convicted of â€Å"a sexual act on an animal† could receive up to 20 years in prison. The local weekly paper explains that, â€Å"The new measure would give activist judges the option of slapping perps with a mere two and a half years in plush local jai ls, or even letting zoophiliacs walk with a $5,000 fine. † Also this type of sex crime can have other consequences such as â€Å"health† related. Having sex with animals can expose one to worms, ticks and scabies. [5] It is written in Leviticus 20:15, â€Å"And if a man lies with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. † This world is surely likening unto the times of Noah. Bestiality is a spiritual disease which manifests in the physical.Only a person who is NOT connected spiritually with The Father would consider doing this, and even does it. This type of sex â€Å"sin† is purely demonic plain and simple. The ones that have this problem should immediately seek spiritual help! Speaking to a youth minister, pastor, praying fasting would help bring about a righteous solution. All of the ancient sins have come upon us today for the same reason they came upon those in ancient times†¦because we turned away from The Most High and in order to remove these sicknesses be it mental, physical or spiritual, we MUST return unto Him once again and this time remain there How to cite Disturbing Behavior Paper, Papers

A Detailed Consideration of Act3 Scene 5 in Romeo and Juliet Essay Example For Students

A Detailed Consideration of Act3 Scene 5 in Romeo and Juliet Essay This scene is in fact the last time that Romeo and Juliet meet and talk. It is an important scene, which highlights a number of key issues and themes in the play. The scene begins at dawn on Tuesday morning in Juliets bedroom after the nuptial night. The lovers are having a playful argument about whether or not it is dawn, and time for Romeo to flee to Mantua. The Montague and Capulet battles were getting out of hand and the Prince of Verona, Escalus, stated that if there were another brawl between the two households the punishment would be the execution of either Montague or Capulet. Tybalt, a Capulet, murdered Mercutio, Romeos best friend; therefore Romeo was extremely angry and sought revenge. He chased after Tybalt and gained his revenge by killing him. Prince Escalus hears of this news and instead of sentencing a Montague to death he banishes Romeo to Mantua. The language used in the conversation, between Romeo and Juliet, is very romantic, for instance when Juliet says It is not yet near day. It was the nightingale, and not the lark This shows that Juliet does not want Romeo to leave and she is trying to persuade him that it is still night and not dawn because Romeo should be in Mantua before dawn. Let me be taen, let me be put to death This quote illustrates how much Romeo loves Juliet. This quote is also extremely ironic because we know that later on in the play Romeo does die because of his love for Juliet. Romeo says that he would rather be dead than have to leave Juliet and flee to Mantua. It is ironic that Romeo jokes come death and welcome as if he is prepared to die for love. We, the audience, realise that this is exactly what fate leads him to. It is his love for Juliet that eventually leads to this tragedy. Another example of the romantic language used is when Romeo says More light and light, more dark and dark our woes. This quote, said by Romeo, shows that the lighter the day gets the darker his and Juliets lives will be because they are apart. A point to note is that there is a continuous light-dark imagery throughout the conversation between Romeo and Juliet. An example of this is, Yon light is not daylight And light thee on thy way to Mantua. This is continued to the end of the conversation where it ends with More light and light, more dark and dark our woes. It is interesting to make the point that, in this case, the light happens to be bad and the dark good because the dark means Romeo can stay with Juliet and the light, on the other hand, means that Romeo has to leave. The Elizabethans were firm believers in fate and destiny. Juliet goes on to say that fate is fickle, which is changeable and untrustworthy. The wheel of fortune plays a role in the play, it means that at one moment you might be the happiest person alive and then all of a sudden be at the lowest point of your life. Lady Capulet then enters the room and observes Juliet weeping. Lady Capulet thinks that these tears are for the death of her cousin, Tybalt. This dialogue between the two is ambiguous in many ways. Juliet is actually weeping over the fact that Romeo has been banished. Lady Capulet describes Romeo as a villain and then Juliet says, aside, to herself God pardon him; I do with all my heart; .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .postImageUrl , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:hover , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:visited , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:active { border:0!important; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:active , .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264 .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uc45ebf079a370083947769d03536a264:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Romeo and Juliet coursework EssayJuliet then agrees with her mother but secretly she doesnt. A example of this ambiguity is Indeed I never shall be satisfied with Romeo, till I behold him-dead-is my poor heart so for a kinsman vexed Lady Capulet takes Juliet to mean: I never shall be satisfied with Romeo till I behold him dead. My poor heart is vexed for a kinsman (Tybalt). What she actually means is: I never shall be satisfied with Romeo till I behold him. My poor heart is so vexed for a kinsman (Romeo) that is dead. Of course Romeo is now a kinsman to the Capulets because he married Juliet but Lady Capulet doesnt know this so she doesnt suspect that Juliet can be meanin g something else. In the original quote there is a hyphen, which signifies a pause. This pause is quite important because it shows the reader that Juliet is talking about Romeo. She says I never shall be satisfied with Romeo till I behold him (pause) dead The theme of violence, revenge and hatred of the opposing families runs throughout the entire play but in this case Lady Capulet is taking it to another level. She doesnt just hate Romeo she despises him and the rest of the Montagues. She despises him so much that she wants to hire somebody to slaughter him. She says to Juliet Find thou the means, and Ill find such a man (To kill him) At this stage it is the older, supposedly more experienced characters that are keeping the hostility alive. Romeo and Juliet are the ones that are trying to put the past behind them and to live happily. Juliets reaction to the proposed marriage to Paris is negative. She rebels against her parents and refuses to marry Paris. At the beginning of the play, Juliets views on marriage are quite the opposite. At the ball she is looking at all the men and seeing which of them would make a fit husband. Juliet is unhappy about the wedding because it is to be held at the same place as she married Romeo. She cant remarry there because she is married to Romeo and the Elizabethans view on the holiness of marriage vows was very strong. They believed that the consequence of breaking those vows would be that you would go to hell and your soul would be cursed. Capulet was extremely angry when he found out that Juliet had refused to marry Paris. He got progressively more and more angry. He was so angry that he threatened to disown Juliet if she didnt marry Paris. Juliet still refused and sought comfort from her mother but received nothing. In the Elizabethan era the male head of the household was a domineering leader. His word was taken without question. There was a very rigid social hierarchy. Women didnt really carry much status in society. Capulet wanted Juliet to marry Paris because he was kinsman to Prince Escalus and therefore had power and money. Capulet can be a very violent man. An example of this is when he is shouting at Juliet when she refuses to marry Paris. Out you green-sickness carrion, out you baggage, you tallow face! When Capulet tells the nurse peace you mumbling fool he is correct because earlier on before actually speaking to Capulet she says God in heaven bless her. She was mumbling to herself and God so therefore Capulet is correct. Capulet threatens to disown and throw Juliet out if she defies him. Hang thee young baggage disobedient wretch! I tell thee what, get thee to the church on Thursday, or never after look me in the face The nurse advises Juliet to forget about Romeo and to marry Paris as her parents wish. Juliet says that she accepts the advice but after the nurse has gone expresses her true feelings about the nurses treachery. .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .postImageUrl , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:hover , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:visited , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:active { border:0!important; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:active , .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912 .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u2f0c3d9d9ae83ad86418f4cbe6f7f912:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Blood brother unit 2 in drama EssayOverall I found that Romeo and Juliet was an excellent play, which was written with deep emotion. During the play you experience many different feelings of hatred, love and sadness. Its a thrilling story that captures the readers thoughts and shows how sometimes children can be more mature than adults.
